Tim McAbee

Tim has over 16 years of leadership and ground-breaking experience working in carbon markets and nature-based offset project development, and over 22 years in forest management and timberland investments working for and alongside the major forestry service providers and timberland investment management organizations operating in North America. He is responsible for DFC’s strategic vision, operational alignment, growth, and culture. Prior to DFC, Tim was Managing Director, Natural Climate Solutions for Pilot Company, one of the leading suppliers of fuel and the largest operator of travel centers in North America. Before that, he was Senior Vice President at Finite Carbon, the world’s largest carbon offset project developer.

Tim is a professional Certified Forester and a member of the Society of American Foresters. He holds an AAS degree in Forest Technology from the NYS Ranger School in Wanakena, NY and a BS degree in Forestry and Natural Resources Management from SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY. Tim is a U.S. veteran having served in the Army National Guard as an infantryman from 1999-2005. He currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida on a canopy road in the Red Hills region, known for its biological diversity and scenic beauty, particularly its longleaf pine forests.
